On day one of Politics, Policy, and a New Economic Strategy for Rural North Carolina, Dr. Mandy Cohen, EVP and CEO of Aledade Care Solutions and former Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, gave a keynote address. Engaging in a fireside chat with conference chair Tony Copeland, Dr. Cohen argued that North Carolina has an opportunity to use federal COVID relief money on much needed infrastructure investments in rural communities, particularly expansions to broadband access and Medicaid.
