Welcome to Polis: Center for Politics at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy!
Since its founding in 2015, Polis has worked to prepare future political leaders and to foster the development of engaged citizens through innovative political engagement programs. We offer an array of programs that grapple with the most pressing political issues of our time–from polarization to redistricting reform/gerrymandering to voting rights to global politics and more.
Polis is also committed to Duke’s mission of using “knowledge in the service of society.” Duke University is home to some of the nation’s top political scientists whose research offers valuable insights for improving politics and public policy. Polis aims to promote the creation of innovative scholarship and to amplify it.
Ours is a vibrant intellectual community of students, staff, faculty, Duke alumni, and friends around the world. We hope you will join us!
