Empowerment through Social Policy Design: State of Empowerment Author Carolyn Barnes in Conversation with Andrea Campbell
Join Sanford School of Public Policy professor Carolyn Barnes who will discuss her new book, State of Empowerment: Low-Income Families and the New Welfare State, in conversation with MIT professor Andrea Campbell. Barnes’s study uses ethnographic accounts of three organizations to reveal how interacting with government-funded after-school programs can enhance the civic and political lives of low-income citizens.
