Hosted by the Duke Democrats and The Ciceronian Society, “Chartering Our Future: A Democracy Day Dinner Discussion” hopes to bring students from across the political spectrum to have civil and moderated discussions over what are normally heated political issues. The event will place members from both clubs into small roundtables, where moderators will guide a constructive dialogue on some of the key issues that are featured in this upcoming, heavily polarized presidential election.
The event will take place at McClendon Tower Floor 5 on Friday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 6 p.m. The event is a part of a series of events happening for Democracy Day on Nov. 1. Chipotle will be provided!
The event is open to all Duke students, regardless of whether you are affiliated with either club. However, we do have an upper limit on attendees, and to attempt to roughly balance the political identifications represented, we may have to turn some people away. Filling out the form therefore does not guarantee a spot for the dinner – you will get an email if you are confirmed. Thank you for your understanding.
