He traced the historical context leading up to these events, including developments over the past year and the broader conflict since Israel’s creation. He commented on Israel’s recent attack on members of Hezbollah, where they used exploding pagers to take out members of the organization in a surprise attack. He noted that this attack is bound to lead to further escalation: “This is not a [comment] on who is right and who is wrong, this is just hardheaded strategy that is making Israel less secure.”
