Exercising civil discourse and debate
Students participated in an immersive and collaborative debate hosted by Braver Angels, ACTA and BridgeUSA. These debates teach students to honor ideological diversity, foster civil discourse on college campuses, and cultivate student and faculty leaders to carry the movement forward. The students chose to debate whether extremist rhetoric should be regulated in the media and the implications these regulations would have on free speech.

Learning the importance of democracy
On the last day in D.C., students were able to tour the U.S. Capitol or visit one of three museums including the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the National Museum of the American Indian, or the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
