PSC Spotlight: Meet Ranjan Jindal

Tell us about yourself (name, year, major/minor, hometown, etc.)

My name is Ranjan Jindal, and I’m a senior studying public policy, economics, and journalism. I’m from Greenville, South Carolina.

What inspired you to pursue public policy?

I always enjoy thinking about modern solutions to our societal problems, and the public policy major fits that mindset. I also value studying effective leadership, and at Sanford, we are challenged to develop our own leadership identity.

What policy issues or areas are you most passionate about

I love learning about multiple different policy fields and seeing the connection between them. My favorites are economic and infrastructure policy.

What other activities are you involved in at Duke (internships, projects, sports, etc…)?

My major involvement is with The Chronicle, where I was the sports editor last year and now serve as audience engagement director. I also have been part of POLIS student committee executive team and house/quad council.

Fun fact or hobby about yourself

I enjoy staying active through sports including basketball and tennis, and I also love playing the piano.
