Professor Ken Rogerson was quoted on data privacy and the ban of TikTok on government issued devices. In December 2022, Congress banned TikTok on federal employees’ work devices. Rogerson acknowledged that while banning the platform on government-issued devices is a good idea, it is too focused on TikTok’s connection to China. “We need to be asking these same kinds of questions and wondering the same kinds of things about all companies that gather our data,” Rogerson said.
